Super Easy DIY Sugar Scrub

Posted on January 20, 2018February 11, 2022 by sophiebocks

In this blog post, I’m going to show you how I make my DIY sugar scrub. This body scrub is perfect for keeping my skin soft and hydrated. The coconut and Vitamin E. oils are perfect for hydration, while the sugar helps exfoliate.

Body scrubs that are sold in stores can get a little spendy nowadays, especially considering how easy they are to make yourself!

Knowing how to make your own scrub can help save some money as well as a trip to the store. Plus, you probably already have all the ingredients you need to make a DIY sugar scrub right at home!

Below are the steps and ingredients I use to make my own sugar body scrub.

This sugar scrub is one of my favorites and is super easy to make! Containing coconut oil and Vitamin E oil, this body scrub is super nourishing for your skin and will leave it feeling so soft. #skincare #DIY #bath #bodyscrub #coconutoil #vitamineoil #sugarscrub #exfoliating #brownsugar

The type of sugar you use all depends on how coarse you want your body scrub to be. I chose brown sugar for this body scrub, which is coarser than white sugar. Salt can also be used, which tends to be the most coarse in comparison with sugar.

Whenever I can, I try to reuse old jars. I chose an old jelly jar that I found lying around, but almost any container will do. Once you have a container, fill it with the sugar/salt of your choice.

I like to use coconut and vitamin E oil in my scrubs. Coconut oil is incredibly moisturizing, and vitamin E oil has many skin-nourishing benefits. I also like to add 5-7 drops of essential oil to add a nice scent. I chose a citrus essential oil for this sugar scrub.

Because a scrub is so easy to make, measuring portions isn’t really needed. As long as it will fit into your container of choice, then the portions are really up to you. If you want your scrub more oily, then you can always add more oil. To be precise, I measured out the oils to 1/2 cup of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of vitamin E oil.

Now that you have all your ingredients, add the oils to the sugar/salt.

Then, mix together the scrub until the sugar absorbs all the oil. You may have to add more sugar/salt until it becomes consistent.

Now you have made your own body scrub! How easy was that?!

I would never have thought to use Brown Sugar for this. I have raw sugar before. What kind of oils do you use? I use Young Living essentials oils.

I’m sorry I can’t remember what oils I was using when I made this! I’ve actually been looking for some new oils though so I’ll have to try those.

HI. I just did a post about Young Living. And my other early posts has some Young Living in it. It talks about the things I did with them.
