Fanola No Yellow Shampoo & Nutri Care Conditioner Review

Posted on March 12, 2020February 14, 2022 by sophiebocks

I’ve been meaning to post this review for so long now! I switched to the Fanola No Yellow Shampoo and Nutri Care Conditioner awhile ago and don’t know why I didn’t sooner.

In this post, I’m going to review the Fanola shampoo and conditioner. It works so well at keeping my hair nice and silvery in between salon visits.

Prior to switching to this purple shampoo, I was using one by Redken. I don’t know why but it just didn’t seem to work for me. I honestly couldn’t even see a difference with the Redken one!

In my opinion, Fanola is the best purple shampoo out there for toning blonde hair. I like to leave it in a little longer so I can maintain a pretty silver color in between salon visits. Using Fanola:

When using the Fanola No Yellow shampoo, I typically apply it to my wet hair in the shower, then clip it up and get all my other things done in the shower like washing my face, etc. If I haven’t used it in awhile and my hair has gotten pretty yellow, then I’ll try to leave it on a little bit longer.

I have noticed that the shampoo turns my hands a little purple, but it only lasts for a little bit and will come off with the conditioner before I finish showering.

The Fanola conditioner is AH-mazing! At first I wasn’t planning on getting the conditioner, but I figured since it’s designed to work with the shampoo that I might as well.

It smells so good, even my fiancé likes to use it! My only complaint is that I’m pretty sure the conditioner as well as the shampoo has silicones in it, which I’m trying to avoid to keep my curls healthy.

I do know that they have a Vegan option for the purple shampoo available that contains no sulfates, silicones, or parabens. I’ll have to give that one a try next!

Fanola Results:

Overall, the Fanola purple shampoo and conditioner are staples for my beauty routine.

I notice that my hair starts to turn back to a warmer yellow when I stop using it, so I usually try to use it in between normal washes with my other shampoo and conditioner.

Below are before and after photos. The before photo is on the left, and the photo on the right is after using Fanola. You can really tell how much cooler my hair is after using it!

Fanola Pros:

  • Works fast at removing yellow tones
  • Helps keep cool/silver tones between salon visits
  • Doesn’t make hair very dry or brittle
  • Conditioner works well and smells amazing
  • Pretty affordable compared to other purple shampoos

Fanola Cons:

  • Leaves slight purple tint on hands, but comes off quickly
  • Shampoo and conditioner possibly contains silicones
  • Only available on Amazon.com

There aren’t many cons or downfalls of the Fanola purple shampoo and conditioner, and they are greatly outweighed by the benefits.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Fanola for their purple shampoo and conditioner!

Oh my gosh, your hair looks so pretty in these images! You might say “Thanks to the conditioner~” but it was probably just as beautiful before – but now you have a tint! I wonder if you’re still using the shampoo today… hmm- oh well, thank you for the review~

    By the way, what is the matter with silicones? O-O;

Thank you so much for the kind words! I still use this shampoo maybe once a week to keep the color up. I’m sure my hairdresser could explain silicones better than I can, and who knows if it’s exactly true, but the main problem is that they build up on your hair over time. The build up makes it harder for your hair to absorb moisture which can make hair feel brittle and increases risk of damage. I hope that helps explain it!

You are quite welcome~ Oh my gosh- Well that certainly would be a problem to having lushious hair… Well I’m glad you are still able to use it weekly without too much buildup risk!
